Head is the weirdest movie I've ever seen.. It's like a case study on what happens if you give 6 guys a couple of cameras and a whole lot of drugs.

Urban legend was that the reason it was named "Head" was because if there was a sequel, they wanted to use the tagline "From the people who gave you Head."

How about Mondo Cane? It was a documentary-type movie but was off-beat.

Well, Russian Ark must be up there.

Russian Ark Movie Review & Film Summary (2003) | Roger Ebert

It is 96 minutes long. It consists of precisely one shot - one single 96-minute shot.

I always thought Motel Hell was super weird.

Love Exposure by Sion Sono
Extenssions by him is weird also

Peter Greenaway is pretty weird, although I think The Falls is more "unusual" weird (no real narrative)
than "bizarre" weird. A zed and two noughts is my favorite weird Greenaway. I never saw "The Cook ...."

On Greenaway...for a film that's kind of unique...His 'Draughtsman Contract' is worth a watch...

On the 'strange' , the Quay Brothers 'Street of Crocodiles' is one of many of theirs that just grabs you because the frames look so 'weird'. I'd say Lynch had to have seen the films. All three appear to be on that 'wavelength' when it comes to making their inc of films...;-)...

It is a short film but it is just so strange.

Dad's Dead:

One movie that was just so strange I couldn't get through it was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Strangest motion picture...

Melies magic films were odd. Russian Ark with the one camera, no cuts for the length of the film was odd. Fantasia was odd. I'd have to think a while about what might be the strangest film I've seen. Offensive films are a dime a dozen.

Try Hitchcock's Rope. It was shot in 15 minute sequences. It was based upon the Leopold and Loeb murder case.

Also, try Night of the Hunter, directed by Charles Laughton. Interesting light/shadow and camera angles. Robert Mitchum as a serial killer.
