I liked it, too, and Pine captured the essence of Kirk. He also resembled him; I always thought the young Bill Shatner was good looking.

OT, but I read a while back that the producers of the prequel tried like heck for a way to get Shatner into the film as an homage to his earlier portrayal (as they did with Nimoy) but they just couldn't come up with a way to get around his earlier demise.

It was not a snub, as some had speculated.

Nemesis - Ok.. here's where it starts to flake. Nemesis was "OK".. But by no means in the class of II, IV, VI or VIII.

I don't even recognize the reboots as being Star Trek.
Insurrection was one of the best. It showed what Picard was made of under the obedient and calm facade. And what damage the war had already done to that core.
