It's hard to believe that Eddie was once a major star.. I mean, he's put out some crap since 1992.
Shrek and the sequels, he was good.. But prior to '92, the only bad thing he was in was Another 48 Hours.. I'll even give him a pass on Golden Child, as I thought he was good in a bad movie there.
I'd probably have to give it to Trading Places.. I'll give a special mention to The Distinguished Gentleman as well.. I really thought that was a pretty good one.
Ugh.. They're making Beverly Hills Cop 4? They're completely out of ideas, aren't they?

Really? lol I didn't even really like the third Beverly hills cop. First two are classic though.
I agree trading places is a great movie. That is probably my second favorite Eddie Murphy movie.
I haven't seen distinguished Gentleman. Maybe I should look for that this weekend.
Boomerang was released in 1992, which was hilarious (although not as great as CtA, BHC, Trading Places, 48 Hours, or his 80s output in general). Everything since then has been difficult to watch, although Nutty Professor had a "charm" to it. For comedy and overall performance, Coming to America was Murphy's best. That's the first movie I'd show to someone who's never heard of Murphy, or doesn't understand why he's famous.

Boomerang was pretty good, that movie is star studded. The nutty professor was pretty good too, That was probably the last Eddie Murphy movie I really enjoyed.

LOL For those that don't know, thats from Beverley Hills cop ...
That was one of those "out of type" movies that was unpopular because the theme was unexpected, despite being a good movie. It was similar to "Click" for Adam Sandler or "The Truman Show" for Jim Carrey.
Coming to America was quite good. Liked the first dr dolittle and he did a great job as the voice in shrek!
