Can anyone list movies they have seen that had a sequel that was as good or better when compared to the original movie? We all know so many sequels are disappointing and lousy and probably should not have been made but occasionally, once in a while, Hollywood pleasantly suprises us ... Can anyone think of some great movies with sequels worth watching?
My short list of some movies with sequels as good or better then the original
Star Wars
Lord Of The Rings
Indiana Jones (the third movie not the second)
Toy Story
The Terminator
Men In Black
X-Men
Star Trek

That's a good list, though I'd disagree with you on Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and definitely on Men in Black (I didn't care for the sequels). Others:
Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier
ALIENS (I wouldn't say it is better than ALIEN, but it is as good --- albeit in a different way)
The Godfather II (as good as, not better)
The Road Warrior (waaaaaaaaaaay better than the awful movie Mad Max)
The Dark Knight (way better than Batman Begins)
Spider-Man 2
The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (technically a prequel)
Sam Reimi's Spider-Man with Spider-Man 2
X-Men with X 2, First Class and Days of Future Past
X-Men: First Class with X-Men: Days of Future Past
Captain America: The First Avenger with Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Star Wars with The Empire Strikes Back
The Avengers with Avengers: Age of Ultron
The Terminator with T2
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Secret of the Ooze
Pirates of the Caribbean with Deadman's Chest
