I like the original theatrical release of Blade Runner with Rick Deckard's narration. Really made BR feel like a futuristic take on an old fashioned detective movie. I'm not seeing any of that in the trailers for Blade Runner 2049 and it worries me.

Actually, I liked it too, inasmuch as the movie was filmed in the noir style of those old movies.

I didn't mind the concept of the narration. It was very much in the film noir hardboiled detective tradition.
That said, some of the narration in the original theatrical release was REALLY bad. Like the opening line:
"Sushi. Cold fish. Yeah, that's what my wife called me."
This short drained some of the excitement of 2049 out of me. I'll probably still see it in the theater but I'm keeping my expectations in check so I'm not disappointed like I was with Prometheus.
