What kind of F'd up list is this? Now granted some "horror" movies have crossover value into Scifi. I'll add a few classics to that list:

ET
Gravity
Star Wars (most of them except episode 1)
Planet Apes series (most of them)
Space Balls (maybe a reach on genre)
X-files the movie (at least for the namesake and tie in to best scifi tv series of all time)
The Martian
Men in Black
District 9
Minority Report
Clockwork Orange (maybe a genre stretch)
The Abyss
12 Monkeys
Event Horizon
Total Recall (original)
Predator
Gattaca
Interstellar
War of the worlds
Signs

It's great. It probably wouldn't be my #1, but definitely recommended.
Actually, I thought Primer was a horror movie. I’ll probably watch it at some point now.

I've seen it once. I wouldn't call it "horrible," but it will never make my Top 20 list.

My list has some different titles:

The Fifth Element - I think this is a really fun watch. The Gautier costumes. Milla Jovovich. It's the movie that got me to not be a Bruce Willis hater.

Dark City - I love the film noir visuals. Jennifer Connelly in a Jessica Rabbit outfit is pretty easy on the eyes.

The Matrix is the best sci-fi movie made in almost twenty years.

The Martian should have been on that list.
It put science back in science fiction.

Wall-E? C'mon.
Where was E.T. The Extraterrestrial?

And The Fly was nothing more than a more graphic re-do of a 50s flick.

Just goes to show the genre has a lot of flexibility in it. There a little something for everyone in that list to love or hate.

Donnie Darko isn't science fiction. There's no advanced science operating in the film. Some sort of travel through time is depicted, but there's no indication that it is due to any scientific advancement, but as far as the viewer knows it is naturally occurring. Its categorization as science fiction is lazy and inaccurate.

Max Max: Fury Road isn't science fiction. The only thing required for a nuclear post-apocalypse is nuclear weapons and delivery systems available in large numbers, and those have been around for decades. The widespread shoehorning of all post-apocalyptic fiction into the science fiction genre is nonsensical.
