So I've been trying to find a movie for many years. I saw the first 5 minutes of it probably 10 years ago and always thought it looked interesting and the fact that I've never been able to find it with a search has always intensified my curiosity. So, on to what I know about the movie. I'm guessing it was made between the late 80 or 90's. It's about a group of people trapped in a mansion. There is a big storm the night they all arrive. I could be wrong, but I believe Robert Downey Jr was in it, but I've checked his filmography and could find anything. It seems like there was prize money for whoever survived. I believe one persons car has broken down and perhaps wasn't expected. They all sat down at a large dining room table when they first arrived and then they received the news about what was happening. Someone tried to run to the front door to escape but it was locked. It's been a long time so hopefully I remember it all correctly.

House On Haunted Hill. And no Downey wasn't in it.

That may be it. Is the protagonist a reporter? I was thinking the lead played a reporter.

I'm starting to wonder if I'm mixing these two movies together. I was thinking back to that night and it was Halloween. My aunt I was staying with kept changing between a few channels and perhaps both of those movies were on. That could be how I got so confused by the movie.

The House on the Haunted Hill is too much of a horror flick for me based on the trailer I watched but I did remember some of the scenes. The opening scenes of Clue was what I was really remembering.
