I didn't get defensive. I just don't understand this concept of an "order" to biopics. Someone is interested enough in EJ and believes that other people would also be interested, so they decided to finance the film. Are there others you would like to see first? I guess so. But none of us get to dictate any particular order.
As per usual, the typical musical 'biopic' that any serious thespian must do in order to achieve 'street cred' as an actor. Scenes filled with intense drama and usage of drugs and mental/physical breakdown, before the final triumphant comeback of a much more mature artist. Lather, rinse, and repeat.
I caught the Fandango sneak preview last weekend. It is musical and well done one. My only gripe is that it doesn't cover all of Elton John's career just the 60s- through the 80's. He had some great music in the 1990s that was omitted.
The actor from the Kingsman movies played Elton John. Which kinda made sense because Elton John had a prominent cameo in Kingsman 2.
Well since some of said that this seems like other music artist biopics, it feels like a lot of them feel the same, in the sense that the musician has had drugs and promiscuity problems.
What if they made a biopic movie about Will Smith? His lifestyle was so clean it would be the complete opposite of these other movies, like Rocketman, Bohemian Rhapsody, The Doors, etc.
