Lots of good ones mentioned here. Marley was one of the saddest movies I've ever seen, as well as The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. I hated watching Maximus and Captain Miller die at the ends of Gladiator and Saving Private Ryan, respectively.
I cried when little dog died in John Wick, especially since the pup was the gift of his dead wife. P.S. I Love You is another sad movie about letting go of a dead spouse and moving on.
Old Yeller. I guess Walt thought it was ok to traumatize kids by that "life lesson". I never watched that film again and the same for Bambi and Dumbo. I stayed away from Marley and Me but watched Eraserhead, a terribly depressing and sad film.
The Diary of Anne Frank (2009) Ellie Kendrick, the true story which was featured on PBS as a miniseries. I was touched by it that I ended up buying the DVD back when I collected them.
This scene was very heart wrenching. Saw a recent interview that Mel Gibson wanted to re-release a 4 hour version of Braveheart. I would definitely watch a 4 hour version.
Jesus of Nazareth
Stephan Boyd's dying scene in Ben Hur
Schindler's List
Saving Private Ryan
Titanic
The Last Time I Saw Paris with Elizabeth Taylor's dying scene
The Seventh Sign with Demi Moore's dying scene
Romeo and Juliet- Franco Zefferelli version
The Night of the Living Dead
Any movie where animals died or got hurt and I was out of there.

I was 24, in love with a dark-haired beauty, and took her to the movie because I thought she would enjoy watching a chick flick. I had overheard a couple of girls raving about how good it was a day or two earlier.
I got into it and the ending melted me into a sobbing puddle of goo. I walked out still snuffling. And I never cry in movies!
She was OK and couldn't understand why I was so sad. She thought it was kinda dumb.
While not a movie about death the story of Brooks in The Shawshank Redemption is very depressing and certainly a sad reality for people as they get older. He is removed from his friends and set out into a world where he knows very little of it and is too old to make new friends so the question is then "why am I here?". It also touches the very depressing topic of dying alone.
Gran Torino - while Clint Eastwood's character certainly still has a purpose in life and has friends his death is still sad.
Forrest Gump - this one I'm ashamed in a way haha but when he says little forrest wrote you a letter and I'm not allowed to read it so I'll just leave it on your grave........yea i'm to the point where if that movie is on tv, when they get to that scene I have to change the channel to something comedy related for a few minutes then turn back haha.

Marly and Me....Many parrallels to my own life. I have a yellow lab thats my best friend, young family so the dog doesn't get much attention but still a member of the family, we had a miscarriage, considering moving.....yeah its rough.
On a funny note though....My cousin was in like 5th grade and took his friends to see it in the theatre. It was marketed as like a Beethoven movie....My uncle got a lot of upset parents calling him after that.
The Red Wedding in GOT is an honorable mention.
