What is your favorite song(s) from a movie or musical?
Some of mine are...
West Side Story: Tonight
Godspell: Day by Day
Evita: High Flying Adored
Hair: Aquarios
Phantom: All I Ask of You
Top Gun: Take my Breath Away
Play Misty For Me: First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Well, for me it's "Climb Every Mountain" from The Sound Of Music. Doesn't matter that the mother superior (Peggy Wood) was lip syncing to Margery Mckay's voice one bit at all. It's just one of the most awe inspiring vocal performances I've ever heard.
My Mom was a huge fan of musicals and opera. I grew up with both. Musicals took, opera never did. Sorry Mom.
Time for the Way Back Machine.
South Pacific - Some Enchanted Evening
My Fair Lady - I've Grown Accustomed to Her Face & The Street Where You Live
Camelot - If Ever I Would Leave You
(I also loved the movie version with Richard Harris. Not because he could sing, bless his heart. I just loved Richard Harris.)
Jesus Christ Superstar - Ted Neely in a Jesus robe was perfection to teenaged female eyes. Gethsemane (I Only Want to Say) still is one of my favorites.
Fiddler on the Roof - ALL of it.
Sound of Music - Edelweiss. Just a perfect little song.
Before Kazaa tore up my computer, I managed to burn a CD of all my favorite show tunes. Love it.
I just watched "Walk the Line." Johnny Cash , What a great singer.
This movie was good . I think Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon Did such an amazing job with this movie. This will be a movie I will watch again.
