I have no idea if the problem is Johnson, Gibson, or Diesel. But when you take a bunch of type A males and put them on a set together you can expect some personality clashing.
I think none of them got over the "franchise Viagra" bit from Fast Five with Dwayne Johnson busting through more than the reunion of the previous Fast sidekicks. Just as Cena sort of absorbed the role that The Rock had in the WWE his actual Toretto brother is placed to fill the role of the human tank brother in arms in the Fast finales.
Meanwhile Hobbs and Shaw could very well see Kevin Hart's ex special forces Air Marshal join the redeemed Shaw family

Tyrese was pissed because Johnson went off to film Hobbs & Shaw instead of working on F9 sooner. Tyrese buried the hatchet with Johnson recently, though.
There was a lot of buzz that you may rejoin the "Fast and the Furious" franchise. We saw that Vin Diesel recently posted he wants you back. We know you addressed potentially returning months ago, but were you surprised by Vin's post?
"I was very surprised by Vin's recent post. This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly - and privately - that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem.
Vin's recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn't like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker's death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible 'Fast & Furious' franchise with gratitude and grace. It's unfortunate that this public dialogue has muddied the waters. Regardless, I'm confident in the 'Fast' universe and its ability to consistently deliver for the audience, and I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter."
I watched it today. Very very diverse cast and some freaking insane action scenes. They go to out space for the first time. F10 will be fighting on the moon or mars I guess.
I don’t think this is like mission impossible series. That one is Cruise’s one man show. An American 007.
This one is pretty special, a little bit like real-life Avengers or old school jacky Chan police story series. No good comparison I can think of right now.

You succinctly summed up the Fast sequels. The ol' gang of street-racing lowlifes have graduated to untrained astronauts. But in the franchise's defense, they did spend time in 9 making fun of their escalating & implausible exploits.
Paul Walker, and the first movie, were so damn good.. they were basically able to milk 20 years of dumb sequels from the original. And I'll say in defense of Vin Diesel, he's barely aged in 20 years.. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit: if they keep makin' em, I'll keep watching em.
