I read the other day that actor Cary Elwes was bitten by a rattlesnake while out in his yard.
It got me thinking, with all the Westerns Hollywood used to make, were there other actors who got bit by rattlesnakes. I don't remember ever hearing of any.

1-- Any film crew would scare away any snakes pretty quicly.
2 --- Most were filmed on the same old back lots.
3 -- The "stars" probly never left LA, with most location shooting of stunt men and body doubles.

Many were shot on the Universal Studios Backlot, Griffith Park, or in the trails leading up to Malibu. Depending on the time of year, there are rattlers out in those locations. Havent heard of anyone being bit on set though.
Movies shot on location in snake territory have snake wranglers, people who go out and round up/relocate all the rattlers before the shooting starts. That would account for so few actors getting bitten.
ZipRecruiter is a site that finds jobs in the film industry. " Animal wranglers, such as snake wranglers, may work in the film industry, where they ensure that snakes or other hazardous animals don’t interfere with filming." If you're hired, you're one of the hundreds of names that roll in the credits. I've seen wranglers named in the credits.
