Everyone who grew up in this era and saw the movie remembers it. It's a great movie for the 80's era. I was born in the early 80's and actually saw this movie when I was a teen in the 90's, but this was a pretty universally loved movie. I watched in many times.
Re-watching it, I loved and appreciated the "Thor" character, and it's cool to look back and realize now that Vincent D'anofrio was the actor.
Solidly entertaining movie and perfect for the times.
This may be one of my favorite movies from this time. I’m a smidge younger than Elizabeth Shue but I thought she was the epitome of the perfect 80s girl, classy, cute, and kind, but if pushed enough that backbone reared it’s head - to clarify I wanted to BE her not date her. I loved how she finally had had enough on the train. I see myself finally snapping that way. Loved her class and dignity in the movie. And I may still have a tiny crush on George Newbern, guys been married over 30 years to the same wife.

I remember it simply because it aired almost on repeat on HBO or Showtime or whichever one had it.
Not a bad flick, and yes, Shue was easy on the eyes.
Keith Coogan did a cameo in Jay and Silent Bob Reboot that really played off this movie.
And, referencing back to earlier.. Holy crap! Thor was Private Pyle? that guy has been in so many different things and I NEVER recognize him!
