When the Lord of the Rings movies came out, it seems to me that there came a new expectation of movie franchises in that the sequels get released much quicker than in the past. Before it seemed that a franchise would wait for a few years in between sequels. Do you think now that people lose interest in a franchise if a sequel doesn't come out quickly? For example, the Chronicles of Narnia released Prince Caspian in 2008, three years after Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe came out, whereas movies like Twilight have come out every year since 2008 and the Harry Potter movies came out in quick succession. The Narnia franchise doesn't seem like it's done well whereas Twilight and Harry Potter have done very well. Sorry if this seems to be rambling, what are your thoughts?
