Yes. But the title is a bit misleading.
Not a religious film as much as it is about racial/ethnic divide in a French prison. This storyline is a secondary one, though.
Main character (a French-Arabic kid) is sentenced to 6 years in prison and the story is about who he becomes in order to survive the 6 years.
Gradually turns into a gangster movie.

It's a good movie; a combination of jailhouse drama, gangster society, and social commentary. There is some violence that made me wince and look away--but the camera does not linger on it...this is a worthwhile film.
very nice movie, that director (Jacques Audiard) is awesome. Watch A self-made hero, The beat that the heart skipped and Read my lips.
