When the matrix came out I was 20 something and I thought it was amazing, now I rewatched it and thought it was so stupid and lame. The latex outfits, the sunglasses, and fights with swords where no one actually gets stabbed and just knocked in the face.

Trinity in latex is never lame.

It's not a movie I'd care to revisit to judge whether it's lame or not.

The clunky 'futuristic' cellphones crack me up.

I won't call it lame, but the fact is, I have tried multiple times to get into this movie, and I just can't. So it was uninteresting to me back then, and still is to this day. (Over the weekend, I tried to watch it on Netflix, and ended up watching American Horror Story Asylum instead)

Ditto.

I never bothered with any of the sequels.

I think it's at least as entertaining as any of the superhero movies from the past 5 years.

The mythology isn't exactly deep, but it was still fun, and I still remember it after so many years.

The first sequel was boring as hell and I never bothered with part three.

This, it was all fluff and style with no substance. Reeves is such an awful actor and that didn't help much.
