What's the most violent movie where people are tortured/killed in non-mainstream ways without holding back?
I'm expecting some underground movie.

And not movies where people are killed so much that it doesn't register after a while.
But movies where the suffering is the main attraction.

8MM might fit the bill. I saw that in the theater when I was 16. I really wish I had been carded.

I would also agree on Saw, as long as you don't get distracted by the fact that it is laughably bad. Also, The Cell, which might not be exactly what you are looking for, but involved some pretty gruesome torture/murder.

There's fake snuff films and B movies out there that are worse than most the more mainstream stuff, but those movies are usually garbage.

Stuff that might actually be worth watching:

The Hills Have Eyes remake

Parts of Pan's Labyrinth - people here who've seen the movie know what I'm talking about.

Saw 2-3 - I didn't think the first one was that bad in the violence department.

High Tension

Some of the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels - some very non-mainstream stuff in those!

Hostile - Hostile 2 is garbage, but the first one was very well done for what it is.

I agree with you about 8mm.

8mm was one of those movie's that you actually wanted to kill those Perverts yourself!

Remember the scene when Nick Cage tied up James Gandolfini. Didn't you want to beat the Blank out of him too?

Men Behind The Sun
August Underground

These are much more realistic, graphic, and far more disturbing and unsettling than such laughable trash like 'Hostel' and 'Saw'-but warning, not for the weak or easily upset.

Mark of the Devil. Widely considered to be the most horrifying movie ever made prior to the 80's. Barf bags were actually issued at the door & became part of the marketing campaign. Rated X on initial US release & rated X in the U.K.
