I use it quite a lot mainly to get information about movies and actors.

I answer movie questions at a number of sites, and IMDb is the first place I go for basic information to place in my posts. I visit it many times during the day for such usage. While answering, I've discovered the usefulness of reading reviews and forum threads when I'm trying to find out about something more obscure. I've been able to come up with information others couldn't find via the usual sources.

I also go there for nearly every movie I'm watching or considering watching. I do take part on the boards. If any "flaming" starts, I just delete my posts and generally place the rude person on "Ignore". Most older films~from the Sixties back~generally have polite chat going on.

I've also contributed information, especially about songs used in soundtracks, particularly folk songs/ballads.

I was searching for something on a Q&A site when I happened upon this forum.

Wikipedia sometimes has better summaries, but IMDb has more films and TV series listed.

I prefer Rotten Tomatoes more than IMDb, tho I rarely take the reviews to the heart.

The movie buff's bible. I frequent it, But do not go on the boards. It's great though, Any obscure film I have ever searched for came up right away with a lot of info.

It's not as hip as RT, but it's still better.

I do. I don't really post on the boards much, but I'm always using it for information.
