My favorite musical decade is the 1950s. There is no specific song I like. I like all of them. I just like the doo wop music and the oldies. It makes me feel nostalgic about the good ol' days.

I was a teen in the Sixties and dearly love the music. I doubt there's a group or artist I'm not a fan of from that remarkable era.

Back then, this was EVERYWHERE! It was absolutely astonishing how it permeated the airwaves. Adults, teens and children all knew and generally loved this concept album.

I recall reading something in a book about that decade. The author was traveling cross country at the time. He said that on the radio and everywhere he stopped, some part of the album was being played. It truly was phenomenal. The Beatles led us in such amazing directions though there were moments we thought they had gone crazy. For example, when we were at a café, my younger sister went to the jukebox, telling me, "You have to hear The Beatles' latest. What are they doing?!" The song was "Yellow Submarine".

When a friend and I were writing a novel set in 1969, we refreshed our memories of the music, including Iron Butterfly. I had no idea till then that they were so young!

My sister and I actually wore out this album till it now is barely a whisper. I keep promising myself that I'll buy another copy, but I do not want it on CD because I can hear the difference, and it's a shame:

The list of artists and their varying sounds is endless! I'd also like to link to Donovan and so many others.

I consider high school when one starts to come into their own with respect to music. In my high school years it was a mixture of great and really bad.

It was my class which was first graced with Van Halen's first album and it was a hot commodity - concert tickets were $5, a $10 bag of weed was a stuffed full zip lock bag and you could still smoke indoors.

It was also when John Bonham died and In Through The Outdoor by Zeppelin was released.

I would say the eighties due to diversity. You had GREAT hip-hop, hair metal, new wave, electro-pop, pop rock and hard rock. The only style you didn't really see (though it still existed) was punk. A lot of classic acts debuted in that decade and started up as well.

I like music of all years, but the classics from the 70s seem to be the richest. It's almost like music peaked out then. Now days you just do a remix from that period so you don't have to start from scratch.

Has to be the 80's for me. Especially between '82 and '87.

Here's a typical 80's song, Go Insane, Lindsey Buckingham
