I really like the way M83 has incorporated a nostalgic, 1980's, John Hughes film aesthetic to his music, which is always spacious. This track does a good job of it.
I think much of M83's music is that way and brings back some of the better memories of what it was like to be a teen. Good stuff.

the loving compassion in this post breaks my heart... that our world,
our country, cannot respect the wisdom of what is said here which
would only give our lives more joy...
Who taught us to be ashamed of tears? ...tears make us human...

than I love myself...
All day I've thought of Jim... all night... all I talked about to
Mr. FireHorse was Jim... and whether we would find out what
happened when he went to his first "meeting" where they
had to lock the doors...
I for one am happy that a year ago I sent you Jim the Statue of
Liberty in the real and loved the stories that you wrote about it...
Going to the beach to baptise it and yourself in the Pacific Ocean
in the real... the stories of you taking it to school... the stories
of you sleeping with it...
And whenever you were struck with that "worshipping" spirit that
we know young men since the beginning of time are struck with,
how you would energize your Lady Liberty... turning her in the
direction of those vibes...
The stories of the Bowties, the elderly gentlemen who looked
forward to you riding the bus with them ...and how they would
laugh when the bus driver would stop and you would yell
"I love you Sweet Apryl" ...the tales of your first "Halloween
pregnancy" and the destruction of the people's bathroom
when you couldn't get out of the tub... Jim, Jim, Jim, so
many tales of laughter...
Contrasting that now with the struggles in the real... and
how bravely you face questions of mortality... truthfully
and honestly... and how purely you love...
Yes, Jim, how purely you love!
I realize how blessed my life has been and want to say if you
run out of the hospital again half naked, I'm going to come
down there and give you a spanking! <laughing through my tears>
Oh yes, he's been such a naughty one! giving everybody a
hard time... and the poor hospital staff... with this wild
wayward spirit of a boy! <laugh, feeling you blush in the real>
Here's hoping you remember what it was like going to your
first "meeting" so you can tell us later...assuming you didn't
get arrested LOL
I'm saying it all here because I don't expect you or shy
to be in the position to come on ...if you were older
Mr. FireHorse and I would take you to Switzerland
with us... so for now, sweet one, dream... go into
your favorite fantasy and dream...
