This is just odd for who's doing it. It's the man who is now Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Order and the song he's covering? "Highway To Hell" by AC/DC. I didn't link to it before because I'm not sure what I think of that, but looking it up the song is apparently just about how being on the road can be a drag. I guess that's okay, but still seems a bit odd for a monk.
In 1970, Bob Dylan released "Self Portrait", a hodgepoge of cover versions, live concert snippets, and traditional song interpretations, that is considered by some critics to be the worst album ever released. This 4 years after releasing "Blonde on Blonde" which is considered one of the very best albums ever made. If I were old enough in 1970 to be a fan, I would have been outraged after spending money to hear the following:
When you are sick to death of boy-band crap and want to fire one back at them with "the bird", what do you do? You get your friends and have them help you rework a song that they did awhile back with a little more attitude!
My favorite part of the song is the reference to AC/DC, ZZ Top, Bob Seger, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, a '65 Chevy Chevelle and other key points. It's a real slap in the face for Justin Timberlake and the likes! LMAO
