Her dad is a Brazilian Jazz veteran, part of the classic band Azymuth, but still active on his own:

I love Chambao, a Spanish band key to the Flamenco Chill genre.

I like pretty much all of their work, unlike many other chill-out acts they are also pretty good live (the same song as above):

This song was reused by the Andalusia tourism board in one of their commercials:

Good stuff! I am loven the first one from grneyedmustang!

Here is one I didn't even know I had and now I can't stop listening to it. Her other stuff is great also, she does some Neo-Soul jazzy stuff, her voice is amazing.

I am really liking Chambao!!!!

Ok, stupid question. Since this isn't "mainstream music", where do you guys find new music? Right now, I usually just go to amazon and listen to stuff I might like based off of their recommendations. I've gotten some really good deals on a lot of chill/lounge music - they've been putting together a lot of mp3 collections for around 8 bucks.

I think that is a GREAT reason to keep this thread going. Here are a few of my Esthero favorites (I'm a huge fan of hers as well):

Agreed re: Chambao!

Good question! I have been into this stuff since the mid to late 90's. Luckily around 98 my cable TV started those music channels and one of the channels was Chill. The programmers were amazing, I would be writing down names all day, that got me started.

Now I just look for music that is similar. Those combo CD's are a good start. I also have a www.lastfm.com account so you can put in a band and they show others that are similar.

Here are a couple more.

Roberta Sa is great and easy on the eyes!

One of my alltime favs

Not officially Chill but this is one of the best bands and singers ever.

I happen to know Chambao because I live on the other side of the Andalusian border I am not really looking for new stuff anymore. If there is something really good, it will find me all by itself sooner or later
