1. Beach House- "Teen Dream"
2. Best Coast- "Crazy For You"
3. Deerhunter- "Halcyon Digest"
4. The National- "High Violet"
5. Arcade Fire- "The Suburbs"
The last one might have my vote after hearing this song:
1. Beach House- "Teen Dream"
2. Best Coast- "Crazy For You"
3. Deerhunter- "Halcyon Digest"
4. The National- "High Violet"
5. Arcade Fire- "The Suburbs"
Ditto on your choices. I haven't heard the best coast album, so I'd probably substitute. Black keys, local natives, or broken bells in there.
Crap. Going to do my own list.
1. Band of horses - infinite Arms
2. Arcade Fire- the suburbs
3. Beach house - teen dream
4. Warpaint. - The fool
5. Deerhunter - halcyon digest
These albums were my favorite, in no particular order.
1. Warpaint - The Fool
2. Band of Horses - Infinite Arms
3. School of Seven Bells - Disconnect from Desire
4. LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening
I have heard a lot of songs from many of the excellent artists mentioned in this thread, but I haven't been as diligent in listening to entire albums in 2010. My list is more an indication of how lazy and nostalgic I have been as a music nut in 2010.
Everything else:
Wild Nothing - "Gemini"
Beach House - "Teen Dream"
Avi Buffalo - "Avi Buffalo"
The Tallest Man on Earth - "The Wild Hunt"
The National - "High Violet"
Horse Feathers - "Thistled Spring"
Vampire Weekend - "Contra"
Ra Ra Riot - "The Orchard"
The Drums - "The Drums"
Fantastic song. I loved it the first time I listened to it. To me it's what 80's music should have sounded like. Don't get me wrong I love 80's music but most of it tends to be on the poppy side.

Nice...and thanks but, I'm one step ahead of you. I have heard this and I absolutely love it. I'm excited I get to see Arcade Fire live at Coachella in April!

I hope they are coming back to Calgary soon....this is one band I do not want to miss.
I'll assume you've listened to Funeral and Neon bible then?
A couple other good Canadian bands that sound similar are The New Pornographers and Broken Social Scene...If you've already heard of those two as well, you'll already know they're good.
