Ditto on your choices. I haven't heard the best coast album, so I'd probably substitute. Black keys, local natives, or broken bells in there.

Glad to see so many indie lovers in this thread!

These albums were my favorite, in no particular order.

1. Warpaint - The Fool
2. Band of Horses - Infinite Arms
3. School of Seven Bells - Disconnect from Desire
4. LCD Soundsystem - This is Happening

I have heard a lot of songs from many of the excellent artists mentioned in this thread, but I haven't been as diligent in listening to entire albums in 2010. My list is more an indication of how lazy and nostalgic I have been as a music nut in 2010.

Fantastic song. I loved it the first time I listened to it. To me it's what 80's music should have sounded like. Don't get me wrong I love 80's music but most of it tends to be on the poppy side.

I plan on looking more into Arcade Fire!

I hope they are coming back to Calgary soon....this is one band I do not want to miss.
I'll assume you've listened to Funeral and Neon bible then?
A couple other good Canadian bands that sound similar are The New Pornographers and Broken Social Scene...If you've already heard of those two as well, you'll already know they're good.
