And ya, you have to have total command of your instruments and guitar to be at least "very good"....let alone "great".
Here an example of why the above statement is incorrect. The history of rock is littered with "great" bands that have been less than stellar musicians. There's more to great music than just technical chops.
AIC was a great band, but none as great as GNR was, slash destroys them all.
Slash and Jerry Cantrell are different guitarists. You cannot compare this to this, or this to this, or even this to this.
