Embodies everything that is wrong with the music industry today. Apparently she has released another (DEAR GOD they let it create another song) single entitled "My Moment". Dear Ms. Black....you should have never gotten a moment. Please go away now. When I was growing up I heard stories (later retold on Behind the Music) about how bands had to actually work to become famous. Put in years and years perfecting their craft. Creating a name for themselves by playing gig after gig for beer money in tiny 100 people clubs. But now with the invent of mainstream media (like youtube) anyone with a video camera can become famous. And thats all they're doing it for. It's not about the music to them. It's about becoming famous. Yes I am talking to you Justin Beiber. You along with Rebecca Black have absolutely no talent what so ever and should remove youself from the music industry immediately.
And my message to the people buying this over produced auto tuned teeny bopper crap....please stop. You are just encouraging them. Just stop. Don't download another crappy single from these people. You wouldn't know a good song if it came up and bit you on your (probably still diapered) behind.
She's a teenager who sings a dumb song. When I was a teenager maybe this would have made me mad, but nowadays I feel more "meh" about it.
Sometimes you need a little perspective. Dumb teen-pop is far from new and in the long run it doesn't necessarily mean much. L'Trimm or Pia Zadora or whoever didn't ruin music or stop talented people from performing so I seriously doubt Rebecca Black is going to either.
Granted in a way her and Bieber do represent something new. "Youtube musicians" and the idea anyone can basically bypass the music industry to become famous on their own by playing directly for anyone with a computer. I have some concerns on that, but I'm not sure even that is always bad. Ingrid Michaelson got known due to MySpace, I think it was, and I like a lot of her stuff.
When attempting to describe just how awful this is, words fail me, every day of the week, every week of the year. Some songs debut and are received poorly at first, only to get better (or at least more tolerable) with time. This is eternally bad.
Egad, that woman doesn't even have the excuse of being young and silly. (And looking her up she's 46 so she doesn't have much chance of getting better either. At least Ms. Black still has time to go to college, study composition, and then "reinvent" herself. Not saying that's likely, but it's not impossible)
Why do some people like to beat up on under-aged girls? In this country there was a time when we referred to that as bullying.
