Myself as well. They came out strong right off the get go with their first album that had that hit. Saw them in concert in 1985, was a great show!

Yes! I'm a big fan of Dire Straits.

One of my favorite CD's from Mark Knopfler is Sailing To Philadelphia with my favorite song on that CD being What It Is.

Except for the Dire Straits material, my favorite Knopfler work is the "Neck and Neck" album with Chet Atkins that came out around 1990.

I just got his 1982 album LOVE OVER GOLD and I gotta say its the BEST album I have heard from him!!

I had his EP in 1983 and the record in 1980 (Making movies) and the first album and I didnt like those as much as I like this one!! (The overall sound on this one is fuller (Not as thin))


Does anyone like love over gold (1982) I think thats the only one where he did 'PROGRESSIVE ROCK' .. The other albums were different........
