Bab L'Bluz track was outstanding. Very traditional sounding as music (I don't know about the lyrics). Very psychedelic video.
Glad you liked it. I was actually a little disappointed with the full album after listening a couple times, but I'm not that big on this type of Moroccan music (or Moroccan music generally). I think it's gnawa. If not, it's close. I've seen gnawa giant Hassan Hakmoun live a few times, and in a live setting it has more impact for me than in recorded form. (I remember one show in a small venue, where some Moroccan women teased me about closing my eyes during part of the show: "Look, he's meditating," or something like that.)
Girls in Airports put out an album this year, and I didn't know about it! Granted, it was late November. But it's annoying, because I thought I was following them on Spotify, but apparently I wasn't. (I just fixed that.) I haven't checked it out yet at all, but I really liked some of the material they were putting out last year, and had been waiting expectantly for an album from them.

And they did what seems to be an inferior re-work of one of the tracks I liked from last year. This album is not terrible, but it's fairly blah, or that's the way it seems to me after one listen.
Not bad, except maybe for the vocals, so I might still decide it's bad. I tend to be fussy about vocals. Engineer/producer has worked with Psychic TV, which makes it less surprising I like some of the sonic aspects, whatever else I think of it. And the video is based on a C.S. Lewis book not one of the five or six I've read. That's an unexpected combination. He certainly wrote elegant, exemplary English prose, however little I share his beliefs.

Really wanted to like this album, but the pukey indie vocals are in fact killing it for me.
Inspired by the novel, Theaters for Dreamers, about utopian dreams and innocence lost, and about the wars waged between men and women on the battlegrounds of genius. Listening to this, it brought Leonard Cohen songs to mind.
