Listening to (and watching) Queen's full concert from Montreal in 1981, this song is playing right now. Great song. Memories of how I felt the first time I heard it way back when.
This song, from the live action “Mulan,” came out over a year ago and I hadn’t heard it until just now when I finally watched the movie.
I’m not a huge fan of Christina Aguilera, but I have to give it to her on this one. She looks great and her voice is amazing in this one. It’s interesting because the phoenix and idea of rising from the ashes plays a prominent role in the movie and I almost see a parallel theme with her. This was the best song I’ve heard from her in over a decade if not more. She definitely still has it and showcased her vocal skills very well.
At any rate, I thought it was cute that they had her reprise her musical role for the live action version, as she had done the soundtrack for the original animated version that was released in 1998.
