"Timothy" by The Buoys (1970)

I remember this song played on the radio when I was a kid, but never realized until I was older that it had to do with cannibalism!

Trivia: it was written by Rupert Holmes who later had the big hit "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" in 1981.

"D.O.A." by Bloodrock (1971)

This song is about an airplane crash victim, and his girlfriend dying on the way to the hospital.

Trivia: reportedly a favorite among troops in Vietnam, especially Huey pilots.

A song that fits in this thread like a glove IMO is the Eric Burdon and the Animals song "The Black Plague" which was released in 1967 on the lp "Winds Of Change". The song of course is based on Burdon's thoughts of the Black Plague that ravaged parts of Europe and Africa in the13th century.

"I Love The Dead" by Alice Cooper (1973)

My mom freaked when I first played this album, and she was totally confused about who Alice Cooper was.

This song was inspired by songs like "The Last Kiss" that were played in that time period. It barely charted, probably because few stations would give it any airplay. It was a popular Dr. D disc though.
