Do you play a musical instrument? Is the musical instrument you play the same as your favorite instrument?
I don't play any instruments, but in one of the other threads, the topic was favorite introductions, and for me, one of my favorite introductions is "A Firth of Fifth" by Genesis...it's just one of the prettiest pieces of music to me...and it's piano.
That got me to thinking...is piano my favorite instrument? Maybe all around, it is. But then I got to thinking about how in some situations, a particular instrument will stand out in such a way, that I love THAT instrument, in that piece of music. Like...how a harmonica (to me) takes a blues band up another notch. Or how a cello can be so haunting, and beautiful. And a saxophone can be so darn sexy.
I learned piano first, but like many different instruments and play several. I chose to focus more on classical (Spanish) 6 string guitar. You can play music originally composed for many other instruments on one. Multiple melodies, chords, accompany yourself, etc. It's more like having a portable piano.

Way back in the day, a friend of mine was in a talent show. I knew he played some guitar, but I had no idea how really good he was. He chose to play a classical Spanish guitar, and I was blown away. I was really proud of him. lol
It has to be the piano. I love, love, love classical piano and my favorite keyboard works are by Bach and Brahms. (Yes, I know that technically Bach was not writing for the piano.)
I took piano lessons for years but I am not talented and rarely play any more. It's still fun and useful to be able to read music.
I've been playing guitar for over 60 years. I was a Richie Blackmore fan and played a Stratocaster for a long time. Then I listened to Steve Vai and played a tricked out Ibanez. Then I decided I wanted to play like Terry Kath and got a Gibson SG. Finally I ended up with a Strat again. I think I'll keep this one. I also have a Martin acoustic which I play most of the time. I really wish I'd kept all the guitars I've owned, but I love the ones I have now.

You should try the piano. I'm sure there are affordable piano classes in your community.
