^For Tchaikovsky I liked swan lake. And Prokifiev's theme of dancing knights.
Rachmaninoff prelude C sharp minor. < But really he has nice piano works. Very underrated

May not be from the time period you intended, but I absolutely love the music of John Philip Sousa. It's my second favorite CD!

I also have some Percy Faith, Henry Mancini, and of course, some Tchaikovsky (especially 1812 overture at the Boston Pops on July 4th)!

All of the Russian romantics--Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Prokofiev. The brilliance, the soul.

Ravel, Debussy, Saint-Saens, Rossini.

Gershwin, Copeland.

(mozart )

A friend of mind is mad for Shostokovich, thinks he's top of the best. I really can't even sit through it. Any other Shostokovich fans out there or is she one-of-a-kind?
