What a great thread! I've been working my way back thru all 396 pages over the past few weeks, and it was totally worth it. I've found some 150 new songs that had escaped my attention, forgotten about, or just never heard of, but now aware of. I miss hearing 60's music played on the radio, as our local oldies (50's and 60's) station shifted to 70's & 80's format about 10 years ago. Many songs here that I had forgotten about and it was such a pleasure to hear them again.
There's so many blank ones early in the thread, but must say it's worth the effort to reload the title names into youtube if you're curious, I found some real treasure that way. Kudos to so many of you, especially HereonMars, BigSwede, Saucywench for posting a crapload of songs that I liked, and unfocused is a quality player anywhere on the board, Case has the country angle covered well, apartment nomad, that La Lupe-Going out of my Head was a masterpiece, Soupson, most your stuff is pretty far out there but I have to say you educated me on Robert Mitchum. I would never have thought that guy could sing a note, but your post of Little Old Wine Drinker Me, proved me wrong.
These songs were my favorites of the 150, I was missing lots of CCR, Beach Boys, Kinks, Eric Burdon & Animals, Jim Croce, and Chad & Jeremy and The Cyrkle are part of my culture now, lots of girl band songs were so awesome in the early 60's, good to hear those again, and all those psychedelic and protest songs of the mid to late 60's. Thanks for all the great tunes....can hardy wait to see what I can find in 70's part2 thread...lol.
