I saw a post mentioning the Carpenters. What is your fav Carpenters song? I love all of them, especially Close to You, Good-bye to Love, Hurting Each Other and my fav is Top of the World. It is the only country song that I have really liked! God bless.

My Mom used to play The Carpenter's Greatest Hits on her 8-trac all the time! Brings back great memories for me. Karen Carpenter had the voice of an angel.

I really liked "We've Only Just Begun", "Rainy Days & Mondays", "Close to You", "For All We Know" are my favorites.

I also love their Christmas Music and "Merry Christmas Darling" along with their version of "Noplace Like Home (for the Holidays)" are my favorites of that group.

I love the song "Superstar." Karen Carpenters voice is proof that there really is a God. Given the chance, she was a talented drummer also.

I like those too, but even their non-minor-key stuff always seemed repressed and depressed. "For All We Know" and "We've Only Just Begun" fill me with dread.

I really like their version of the Beatles "Ticket To Ride"

Released as a single in the fall of 1969 ....it wasn't a big hit but
I like Richard's arrangement ...very nice ...and quite different than the Beatles
They shot a nice promo film for it ...with Karen and Richard and backing band lipsynching in a winter wonderland (I think it's still on youtube)

1971 song "Let Me Be the One" is very good too ...not as well known ...
I don't think it was released as a single

The Carpenters were great ...Richard's arrangements ...Karen's voice
it doesn't get better than that

I always liked their earlier stuff the best. Great arrangements and what a voice! Anything after about 1975 was pretty kitschy IMO

Superstar is on of my faves too. I can still hear my younger sister singing this when we were kids. I could listen to these songs all day. God bless.

The Horizon album certainly IS underrated, Northman! The duo accomplished a lot in the time they were together. Any of their singles would be worthy, and my vote goes for "Bless The Beasts And The Children."
