While generally recognized as a one-hit wonder, Timbuk 3 did have a follow-on to "The Future's So Bright...", which is even featured at the beginning of the video for "Life Is Hard".

I never really had much of a feel for 80's music. Saying that i do understand its appeal, bands like Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran and ABC ,looking back i think they all did something that was original which should be respected, whether you like it or not.

Both "Rio" and " The Lexicon of Love" were highly regarded albums when released in 1982 for sure. They still hold up quite well for originality, production values, and creativity.

I definitely agree with you on that one. Duran Duran was always maligned as being a bunch of pretty boys, but the production of Rio is first-rate, the songwriting is excellent, and the band was as tight as it gets. I saw them in 2004 and they still had it. It was interesting to see three generations of Duranies in the audience... 50-something grandmothers with thirty-something moms and tween daughters.

Hang on tight, it's Nashville's "punkabilly" band Jason and the Scorchers. "White Lies".

I like the synths in this one from the more obscure group, "Eurogliders."

Anachronistic big/bleached-haired 80s power ballad, Canada's Brighton Rock", Can't Wait for the Night".
