Dang - this post is finna be hella years later but who cares lol: I was born in 82, so I do have vivid memories of the clothing, the hair styles (my dad, a black man, relaxed his hair like he was Prince or Tubbs from Miami Vice for a minute in 88 or 89) And I always loved that era musically even though 90s was more my music scene, for obvious coming of age reasons.
But looking back, I love artistic/highbrow/photography/music magazines from the late eighties - they really were pushing artistic boundaries with type font and imagery in a way that I feel the 90s sometimes missed the mark - from a design sense. Hard to describe such topic though, since it comes down to opinion at the end of the day
