A band from South Africa that was apolitical but because of their multi-racial makeup ended up as a beacon of tolerance; many of their shows were broken up because of the prevailing views (apartheid) at the time. Heard this on Slacker yesterday.
A record DJ gave me this album back when it was reased (1982). He would get 100's of releases a month and I would go to his apartment from time to time and sort through them before they were trashed. I think it was a least six years later the song was used in "Rain Man." I think Paul Simon had to of heard and or met Johnny Clegg in SA when he was working on Graceland in 1986.
