I'm going to give you a comparison/contrast on "Anything Goes!". Here are two versions of Mel Tillis' "Mental Revenge". The first version is one that I've shared quite a few times with you previously on this forum. It's the preferred version, but it actually is not the original. Here's the first offering, better-known and recorded in the mid-1970s at the height of Tillis' popularity.
Now, below is Mel's original version. It's a whole lot different, but here it is, from the mid-1960s. He wrote the song, but he offers a different arrangement here compared to later versions by himself and other artists.
As I saw it earlier in the thread here's three versions of "She Moved Through The Fair", which is one of my favorite folk-type tunes as it's very haunting.
