Making a racket? Maybe they were, maybe they weren't. It is a matter of opinion. As guitar players listen, watch and feel, how the hell are they doing that? Doing things with a guitar that no one else has done before. Using techniques no one comprehended or understood to make their guitar sounds. Only these two and maybe Eddie Van Halen can pull off stuff like that. If you ask me it is cool as hell!
