I don't think I've ever really had an opinion on Foreigner - they were always popular when I was younger, but I didn't get it. They were good enough, I guess, but nothing ever stood out as, y'know, "Wow - that song is awesome!" They just seemed to be there. If nothing else, they were consistent.
I liked them when they first came out but thought they went downhill once Ian McDonald left the band in 1980
My favorite Foreigner songs are
"Feels Like the First Time"
"Cold as Ice"
"Headknocker"
"The Damage is Done"
"Long Long Way From Home"
"At War With the World"
"You're All I Am"
"Love Has Taken Its Toll"
"Double Vision"
"Tramontane"
"Dirty White Boy"
"Love on the Telephone"
"Head Games"
"Juke Box Hero"
"Break it Up"
"Luanne"
"Say You Will"
Good band, yet too overplayed / commercial for me... but do like "Starrider", "Blue Morning, Blue Day", "Cold As Ice", and "Dirty White Boy". However, most favourite tune of all that they did very few people have heard of: "Tramontane" off of their Double Vision album - if recall, first tune, second side.
Unfortunately, Tramontane is not on youtube [yet ], but this version of Starrider is my favourite:
"Tramontane" was the second tune off of Side 2 after the title track
