The songs I listed are from various ranked lists of songs. I only found four unique choices on Wikipedia doing that. They do not necessarily represent my own opinion at all.

That is a easy one. Chuck Berry "Johnny B. Goode, the quint essential song of inspiration. Rock music and even Country to an extent wouldn't be the same without it.

My personal all-time favorite (and funnily enough, the only song I like from this band):

How about this one:

I agree with the other/none categories. The listed songs are significant, but by no means would everyone consider any of them the "best song" ever created. I think you would have to define a "best genre" ever created in order to narrow down the best song ever created. Most genres weren't even represented on that list, so it would be difficult to pick the best song ever created from that list. Of course this is subjective, and will vary based upon individual preferences.

Oh yeah, as I looked at the first page of the music forum, I also noticed that "Don't Stop Believing" and "Green Onions" each had their own thread devoted to the possibility of each of them being the "best song" ever.

If I could change the poll I would add something jazz, classical, and country. Although I'm not sure what in each category.
