Vic Chesnutt was a gifted singer songwriter who overdosed on sleeping pills Christmas Day. I am sure most participants on here never heard of him. He was one of the best talents of the past 30 years. Vic will be missed.

Such a sad loss of an American songwriter.

Reminds me of Warren Zevon the way his songs address darkness and death, but it seems that Chesnutt was less sardonic and more serious about it.

He never had a hit, he was just really popular with a few big artists (Michael Stipe & REM for example)
