Oh man, I do believe it was 1975, my sister won 2 tickets to see YES in Cleveland, Ohio. Unfortunately I don't remember the concert, but I do remember they fed us hamburgers on the bus ride there....

When I was in college, 1957, four of us drove 50 miles to see The Four Freshmen play at Southeast Louisiana College. In those days, that was about as hip as it gets.

A few years later, as a Deejay, I emceed a lot of concerts, including Duane Eddy, Brenda Lee, Dion and the Belmonts, Jay and the Americans, The Drifters, including their backup singer Dionne Warwick, who only the week before had just released her first single. She was a beautiful and very classy young (22) lady, even as a backup singer on tour. Her first single was "Don't Make Me Over".

I had very overprotective Christian parents, so I blossomed somewhat late with my first concert experience. But the first show was awesome.

It was Iron Maiden in 1991 at the Long Beach Arena in Cali. My folks were cool enough to drive me and a childhood buddy to the show, and wait outside 'till we got out. I had a drivers liscense, but their participation was a prerequisite for attendance.

Seeing more than 20 friends from high school at the show, and watching a giant Eddie break onto the stage made for a night I'll never forget. I believe that it was during the Fear of the Dark tour. Steve Harris is a bass god.

LONG LIVE MAIDEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
