My boyfriend and I are going to be in Myrtle Beach in late August. I've already found an excellent hotel thanks to this website and I just have a couple more questions.

What are some good non-touristy seafood restaurants? I have no desire to eat at all you can eat buffets. I don't mind driving to Murrells Inlet for dinner if that's where the good spots are!

Also, what is a nearby town I could take a day trip to thats not very commercialized. I'm from Pittsburgh and would like to see a cute, typical southern town. Thanks!

We ususally go to Charleston because we like the history and it offers much more than what Myrtle Beach does. What do you mean by "cute" though? Conway is cute, but only 20 minutes away. And there's not much to do there other than some nice shops downtown.

There was a thread once on the regular section of South Carolina that intrigued me, so I saved it. Maybe it will be what you're looking for! Quaint towns in SC
