Careful. Wild & Crazy (http://www.heraldonline.com/2012/01/22/3681368/myrtle-beach-man-arrested-for.html - broken link) is not permitted around here.

It has been nice at the beach, hasn't it. Quite a few Northern Gannets have been working the bait fish around HBSP, so I'm sure they're also off of GC. They're not all that unusual around here in the winter, but these were as close to shore as I've ever seen 'em. Beautiful birds, and their feeding dives are just amazing. Good stuff....

LOL ... I have often thought, while rummaging for the clothes that I was wearing, that maybe there is a market for a clothing GPS

It has been absolutely, positively beautiful beach weather ... well, up until today ... brrrr I haven't seen a Northern Gannet but I sure would like to. I will keep my eyes open for them. Have you managed any pictures? I am always fascinated watching the birds dive into the water. It is amazing they don't break their necks.

Alas, no. The gannets move faster than I can think or react. I do better with the patient birds willing to pose for me.
