Our son and his fiancee' are getting married at Huntington Beach State Park next September and we are starting to make some plans in advance. My dh and I would like to give them a lovely rehearsal dinner the night before the wedding. Since we live in Michigan, there won't be a lot of people attending, just parents, grandparents, and siblings, so around 15-20 people total. We own a condo at the Horizon at 77th in MB which is at 77th Ave. N. and Ocean Blvd. and the rest of the group will also be staying at the Horizon, so anywhere between point A (HBSP) and point B (Horizon) would be fine, even somewhere a little out of the way if it's really worth it. We are willing to splurge since it is obviously a very special occasion and it won't be that big of a group. Waterfront would be a bonus but not mandatory if the restaurant is special enough. Oh, and it would probably be best to avoid a really ethnic place, such as Mexican or Chinese, since there are some people in the family who don't like ethnic food very much. More like American roadhouse, steakhouse, or seafood with non-seafood alternatives.
Thank you, I'll look into that one too. I didn't even know it was there. It looks pretty upscale, I'm surprised they don't advertise the heck out of it. The last time we were down, I thought if I saw one more TV ad for Greg Norman's Australian Grille I was going to scream. We did go there once, I didn't think it was anything special. Like so many celebrity owned restaurants, I think it depends on Greg Norman's name to get people in the door, not necessarily great food or service. Nice water view though.
If out of the way is really ok, we had a very nice experience at Frank's Out Back last visit. Its south of HB in Pawleys. Koi ponds, candle light, fireplaces.....pretty cool ambience for an outdoor restaurant, and covered.
Mmm...sounds awesome, I'm going to look it up right now. PI isn't all that far out of the way.
Thanks!
