Satellite vs. Cable.
I've had Dish and TWC in the past.

The pros to cable I see are shorter or no contract lengths. But the equipment is far inferior. Dish IMO has the best equipment but Directv is nearly as good. I've been in myrtle beach for 2-3 months now with HTC internet only service. So far I'm rather disappointed. I'm pay for 30/5 up.down speeds and I get usually 17-18/5 tops. Right now I;m at 6/5. It's rather pathetic.

As far as satellite goes, how is the signal in Myrtle Beach? Does Dish or Directv have a better reputation in the area? I'd go with HTC cable due to the lack of a contract but they don't offer NBA league pass which is something I want. I know the other 3 companies do offer that. I love the Dish DVR system. And Directv seems to be as good of a choice as Dish, just a preference thing I suppose.

So any insights on how these companies run things in the myrtle beach area would be much appreciated. Thanks.

We started with TWC and bought a house in a neighborhood where HTC was the only option. Once we went from TWC to HTC there was a huge drop off in channels and internet speed. We went with Directv a year ago and have been happy with that. We do not have a land line but actually have kept HTC for the internet. The HTC internet is terrible and we're actually looking to find another internet provider. I've read some things about Frontier but that's all i've been able to find.

Feel free to share your opinions/advice.

I have lived here 8 years and have had HTC internet during that time. When we moved in, we were on a phone hook-up and had drops in service, slow downloads, etc. Several neighbors got together and approached HTC about the possibility of have cable modems installed. They said ok. Put them in at no charge and now my service is great. Hopefully, this may work for you.
