Hello! Looking for input on Murrells Inlet, Little RIver, and Carolina Forest. We are a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids, 4 and 7. Currently live in over-priced/high taxes NY (Hudson Valley) and are looking to head South to raise our family in a more community oriented neighborhood. I work for an insurance company and work from home, so a job is not an issue. My spouse has his CDL and will look for work if/when we relocate.

I was originally set on Carolina Forest, but after speaking to a few people that live in MB/CF area, I'm having second thoughts. I've been given Murrells Inlet as a place to look as well as Little River. My understanding was LR was geared more towards retirees, with MI as a more up and coming area. Obviously, having school age children, a quality education is the #1 deciding factor as to where we will end up. I also want to be close to stores/shopping/etc.

Any natives on here that can give some insight? I've poured through a lot of these posts, but haven't seen much on the young family aspect.

Thanks in advance.

PS - I've also considered Wilmington/Monkey Junction area. I love it there. My husband? Not so much

We had hoped to relocate to the area as well from NY but jobs didn't work out so here we will stay until that changes but based on all the research we've done I would recommend Murrells Inlet over Little River. We stayed in LR a couple of years ago while visiting family and they are retirees . MI is beautiful and the St. James school district is highly rated.

Thank you, jmjfud. Appreciate the feedback. We will be in NMB next week for spring break and I plan to do some serious looking while there.
