Hi, I am 21 and am having my second child in December. I hear South Carolina is a nice place to live. I had a friend that recently moved to Myrtle Beach. I want to know what places would be good for me to look into. School is an important factor both for myself and eventually my children. I also don't want to move to an area that is "too country",so to speak, I'm used to the city scene! Any ideas???
Just keep in mind that Myrtle Beach thrives on tourism and we have an on/off season here. It's a happening place in the summer months but not so much in the winter months. There are many areas outside of Myrtle Beach that offer good schools and a lower cost of living. My town, Socastee, is a little more country than you are probably looking for. I happen to love it! The schools are good and it's a close drive to the beach or mall when we want to go.
If you are looking for a bigger city, you may want to check Charleston and Columbia.
