Thanks, y'all. You're kind to a toddlin' old fert with a camera.

Besides the eagles?!? That was the photographic highlight of my year!

But since you asked... This week I encountered an abundance of very accommodating northern loons as well as brown pelicans. Of course, the great blue herons, great egrets and snowy egrets are year-rounders. Quite a few coots and miscellaneous other ducks are in the area but they're skittish and hard to get near.

...and those are AMAZING eagle pics, too. I was just wondering what species may be around this time of year...we should be headed back in about 3 weeks and I'm hoping to have time to play with the camera a bit. I'd heard that spoonbills are seen down there and that is one bird that fascinates me; along with the pelicans, and the egrets, and the herons, and the woodpeckers....
I got some pretty good pics of a Pileated Woodpecker about amonth ago; that's one that I want to show you eventually- if I can ever figure this out.

I still haven't gotten the hang of posting pics..but it doesn't matter cuz y'all take much better ones than I.

PD, what birds are you seeing now besides the eagles?
I saw Merganser ducks for the first time in my life. I'll post them soon. Gorgeous, but hard to get close too
they don't like people all that much.

The Blue Heron however came very close and let me take shots. I'll post him too.

Pawleys they are beautiful shots. Wonderful.

Summering,
There is a pair of Merganzers that frequents the pond by the clubhouse at Pawleys Plantation. I've seen them on our last 3 visits.

The Beautiful Huron that is on our pond.

He flew in by me and was happy to pose.

I hope this beautiful bird stops by again. I think he is very local.
