Naples Park vs Old Town Naples (rentals, houses, restaurants)

All things being pretty much equal in two different rentals we have found in these areas, which would be the more desirable location? Take into consideration--we are in our early 40s and so still both working, no children, like to shop, go out to eat and want close proximity to beaches/easy access around town, good gym in the area, good mix of folks with similar background as neighbors. Thanks in advance-- you all have been sooo helpful and welcoming!!

Naples Park, no doubt about it, given your criteria.

While Old Naples is nice and safe and close to the beach traffic will be a nightmare in season. It will be bad in Naples Park, too, but not as bad.

Old Naples has tons of snowbirds-way more than Naples Park.

I'd take Old Naples in an instant over Naples Park!!! I like all the treed streets there and the proximity to the Gulf and Downtown. But, I guess it's a personal choice. Or, if you're not here in Naples yet have you looked at both addresses on Bing.com? You can go to their map page and scan over things and you'll find a little window that comes up where you can get what they call a Birdseye View of any address and it's surrounding areas. Once you get that screen you can click on North, South, East and West and see all sides of the houses you'd be renting. And, again, you will also be able to see a "real life" overview of the area and can scroll in or out to see more or less of it. That way you could see how close to the beach each house is, etc.

I agree with JudiPatooti. Old Naples has higher property values and nicer bigger lots tree lined streets and a lot of pedestrian traffic and bicyclers.. yes, you might have snowbirds in season, but this is where the action is, too. it's close to the beach, 5th avenue, where the great restaurants and shopping is, and 3rd street - more restaurants and shopping and art galleries.
